A report from Zig Wheels states that Suzuki India will launch the Gixxer on August 10. The 150 cc motorcycle had its world premiere in India a few days prior to the Auto Expo this year. Suzuki unveiled the Gixxer along with the Let's scooter, which was launched in India in early May.
The Japanese manufacturer is yet to divulge the technical specifications of the Gixxer, though reports say that the bike will be powered by a single-cylinder engine displacing around 155 cc, capable of producing power in the range of 14 to 14.5 PS with a torque output in the vicinity of 14 Nm. The gearbox would be a 5-speed manual unit. Also, the Gixxer is expected to get the Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) technology which should ensure a good fuel efficiency.
Suzuki announced at the unveil that the bike will have "exceptional riding performance", "best fuel economy in class", and a "light and stiff frame". The motorcycle comes with a digital instrument cluster, a front disc brake and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Dealers of Suzuki India started accepting bookings for the Gixxer since June this year with a booking amount of INR 5,000.
