The Maruti Ciaz will launch in the coming months and will compete with the new City and Verna.

The Ciaz, which was shown in concept form at the Auto Expo this year, is Maruti’s replacement for the SX4 which, if reports are to be believed, has already received the axe. A near production version of the Ciaz was shown at the Beijing Motor Show in April this year under the name of ‘Alivio’.

Power for the Ciaz will come from petrol and diesel engines. The petrol motor is expected to be carried over from the Ertiga which uses a 1.4-liter four-cylinder K-Series engine. The diesel Ciaz could continue using the 1.3-liter Multijet diesel seen on the SX4. The petrol engine would be offered with a manual and a CVT, whereas the diesel will come with a manual only.

The chinese spec ciaz has sunroof.maruti may add that feature to indian ciaz. But as usual a toned down version can be expected. But may be the most spacious sedan in its class.

Is there a sunroof in the ciaz ? I guess there are chances to be so. Have my fingers crossed for that. Would be a great package then compared to city in every aspect.
