Here's the second part of the best stories summarizing the bygone week for the auto industry.

1. Honda Mobilio

The embargo on the details of the Honda Mobilio expired on Saturday and we were able to reveal that the Mobilio petrol and Mobilio diesel are new fuel efficiency benchmarks in the MPV segment. Honda will also introduce the 'RS' variant for buyers who need extra visual fizz. The Mobilio launches in late July and comes only with a five-speed manual transmission.

2. Fiat Punto facelift

The first spyshots that expose the look of the Fiat Punto facelift emerged this week. Though it has taken five years for Fiat India to launch the facelift, the intervention is exclusive to India with the car receiving new headlights, bumpers, foglights and wheels. The interior of the car is thoroughly changed, adopting a new dashboard from the Linea. Called the 'Punto Evo' the facelift will grace showrooms in the coming weeks.

3. Honda CD 110 Dream

Honda introduced its cheapest motorcycle yet last week. The Honda CD 110 Dream is the third bike in the 'Dream' family and is a direct attack on the Hero Splendor. Priced at INR 41,100 (ex-showroom Delhi), the motorcycle is positioned in the ‘Basic sub-segment’ of the commuter category which makes up for 23% of the volumes in the 100-110 cc segment (70 lakh units per annum).

4. Nissan Sunny facelift

Nissan finally launched the Sunny facelift in India. Showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo, the facelift gets redesigned front and rear fascias, a more premium dashboard, upgraded equipment, and a slightly more fuel efficient diesel engine. The Sunny is the second refreshed C-Segment saloon to launch this year as a retaliation to the arrival of the Honda City diesel.

5. VW Passat

The eighth generation VW Passat based on the MQB Platform was unveiled in Berlin late Thursday, and for the first time with a hybrid option. The Passat will be available in dealerships from the 10th of July in Europe at a starting price of 25,875 euros (around INR 21.01 lakhs) for the sedan variant. Expect the new Passat in India next year.
