Ford started assembling the EcoSport at its Vietnamese plant located in Hai Duong last week sourcing kits from Thailand. Hai Duong becomes the fifth plant globally to build the EcoSport, joining facilities in Chennai, India; Chongqing, China; Camcari, Brazil; and Rayong, Thailand.

The Vietnamese EcoSport is made in five trim levels, all of which are powered by the 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine making 110 PS at 6,300 rpm and 142 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. The transmission options include the 6-speed dual-clutch automatic and the 5-speed manual, both of which are seen on the Indian model.
