The new Bajaj Discover F150 is one of the many motorcycles including the new Pulsars that are lined up by Bajaj Auto for the rest of the year. Business Line reports that the new Discover would be launched by the end of this month.
Earlier spyshots showed that the upcoming commuter features a semi-fairing with a brand new identity, and hence could be called as Discover F150 (F for fairing). The Discover F150 would be the only semi-faired commuter motorcycle in the country, if the Honda CBF Stunner and the badge engineered Hero Igniter, the sporty low displacement motorcycles, are not counted.
Save for the fairing, the F150 inherits its design cues from the Discover 125 ST.
Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto, says that even when 80% of the commuter segment comprises of 100 cc motorcycles, the sheer size of the segment means, there is enough room for the Discover F150 to be positioned as a premium commuter.
Rather than just sprucing up the old bike and relaunching it, Bajaj is believed to have developed a new motorcycle. It's still unclear whether the new bike will use a detuned version of the Pulsar 150's motor or would have a heart of its own.
