Germany - India-bound 2015 Mercedes C Class Edition 1 launched

Mercedes-Benz have launched an Edition 1 special edition of the 2015 C Class in Germany. The car gets Avant-Garde exterior and interior styling packages, and costs an additional 8,270 euros (INR 6.75 lakhs) over a base model.

An Avant-Garde radiator grille, larger 19-inch alloy wheels, Edition 1 badges and a body kit are seen on the outside. Inside, a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel with a flat bottom, Artico leather for the instrument panel, aluminium sport pedals, Edition 1 badges, illuminated sill plates, nappa leather for the seats with heating function for the front seats are exclusive to the Edition 1.

The new C Class is currently available in Europe with a range of four-cylinder petrol, diesel and diesel hybrid engines. Prices range from 33,550 euros (INR 27.38 lakhs) to 47,005 euros (INR 38.37 lakhs).

The new C Class is not expected to launch in India this year, as told to Indian Autos Blog by Mercedes India's managing director, Mr. Eberhard Kern. The sedan will likely come early next year. In India, Mercedes assembles the C Class at its Chakan facility and this arrangement will continue for the 2015 model as well.
