A report on Zig Wheels says that the refreshed VW Vento will launch in September this year. Sources had previously told Indian Autos Blog that the updated Vento will launch around the festive season months of this year, however, this new report pinpoints the month to September.

The refreshed Vento with a new diesel engine will launch this September.

The facelifted Vento would get similar styling changes as the Polo facelift which was launched this month. New headlights, bumpers, a single-slat chrome grille, cornering lights, a new body color and alloy wheel pattern should summarize the changes on the outside. Inside, the Vento will receive the new 3-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel and silver inserts for the center console. Lighter seat fabrics and a new multi-information display will complete the changes inside the car.

Mechanically, the Vento will ditch its 1.6-liter TDI engine for the new 1.5-liter engine seen on the Polo. In the Vento, this engine is likely to make 105 PS (103.5 bhp) and 250 Nm of torque. The diesel could also be offered with a 6-speed DSG automatic transmission, though a 5-speed manual will come standard.

The petrol variants of the sedan which use either a 1.6-liter naturally-aspirated engine with a 5-speed manual, or a 1.2-liter TSI with a 7-speed DSG, will continue in the lineup unchanged. Prices for the refreshed Vento would remain identical to the current model.
