Nissan India will launch the Sunny facelift early next month, company officials told Indian Autos Blog during the media drive of the car this week. The Sunny facelift made its global debut in Thailand early this year, followed by an Indian showcase at the Auto Expo.

The facelift brings cosmetic changes to the sedan in the form of larger headlights, a V-shaped grille, chrome-accented front bumper, wing mirrors with integrated turn signals, a sportier-looking rear bumper and a new body color which is still named. Top-end variants are also given 12-spoke Y-shaped alloy wheels.

On the inside, the Sunny facelift gets a new 3-spoke steering wheel, a piano-black center console with an updated music system featuring Bluetooth connectivity and reverse camera on the top-end variant and improved seat and door fabrics.

Mechanically, there are no changes to the sedan, though engineers claim they've improved the NVH package slightly. The Sunny will be offered with a petrol and diesel engine, the former of which gets the option of a 5-speed manual transmission and a CVT. The ECU of the diesel Sunny has been given a remap for better efficiency and the ARAI rated claim has gone up from 21.64 km/l to 22.71 km/l. The power and torque outputs are unchanged however.

When launched next month, the refreshed Sunny will compete with cars like the Toyota Etios and Tata Manza (in terms of price).
