The videos also confirm that a three-cylinder 1.0-liter non-turbocharged engine producing 85 hp and 107 Nm of torque will do duty on these cars. However, reports indicate that Ford will also offer a 111 hp 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine on the higher variants of the new Ka twins.

Both engines are capable of running on gasoline and ethanol. The gearbox choices remain unconfirmed, but the Kas are certain to come with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard.

A sub-4 meter derivative of the Ford Ka+ will launch in India next year as a successor to the Ford Classic. The compact sedan will roll out from Ford India's new plant in Sanand, Gujarat. The Ka hatchback will also launch in India next year, likely as the next generation Figo.

The Ka twins are based on a reengineered version of the previous generation Fiesta's platform. They were designed and developed in Brazil.
