Report - Force Motors to commence Gurkha deliveries in August

Force Motors launched the new Force Gurkha back in February last year. However, sales of the SUV haven't commenced till date as Force Motors have been reportedly working on improving the product.

The Force Gurkha was launched and priced in February last year, but strangely deliveries haven't begun yet.

Improvements have been carried out to the quality of materials used, their fit and finish. Engineers have also carried out changes to the NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) package and improved the air conditioning of the car.

There are no reported changes to the engine and gearbox though. The Gurkha will be powered by a BS3 spec Mercedes-derived 2.6-liter turbocharged diesel engine which is capable of producing 82 PS and 230 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission with a Hi-Lo transfer case is provided on the car. The new Gurkha gets differential locks on both, front and rear axles. The SUV features a ground clearance of 210 mm.

Improvements have been made to the fit and finish, and overall NVH of the car since its launch.

At the time of the launch, three variants were announced for the Gurkha - Soft Top 4x2, Soft Top 4x4 and Hard Top 4x4. The prices at the time of the launch are given below.

Force Gurkha Prices, ex-showroom, New Delhi:

  1. Soft top 4×2 – Rs. 6.25 lakhs
  2. Soft top 4X4 – Rs. 8.35 lakhs
  3. Hard top 4X4 – Rs. 8.50 lakhs
