The Yamaha R25 is expected to be announced towards the end of this month or early next month.

According to the Indonesian media, the R25 is due to be announced later this month or early next month. In markets like Indonesia and India, the R25 will be sold as a top-performance sportsbike, while in developed locations in Europe and Japan, the R25 will become Yamaha's entry-level sportsbike.

The concept R25 was revealed in November last year at the Tokyo Motor Show, while an Indian debut occurred at the Auto Expo in February this year. Yamaha said that the R25 will be powered by a newly-developed, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 250cc, in-line two-cylinder, fuel-injected engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The Japanese manufacturer declined to disclose the power and torque outputs of this new engine.
