Reports are coming in that the Tata Bolt and the Tata Zest will be launched in August this year.

Both vehicles were unveiled just prior to the Auto Expo 2014. Another report says that the Tata Zest compact sedan will be manufactured at the Tata-Fiat JV's Ranjangaon plant.

The Tata Zest will be manufactured at Fiat's Ranjangaon plant, where the Tata Manza is made.

The report suggests that the Tata Manza is being manufactured at Ranjangaon and since the Zest - essentially a sub-4meter variant of the Manza - shares a lot of components and tools with the bigger sedan, it will be built on the same line. The Manza will not be discontinued, says the report.

The Bolt, the report says, will be manufactured at Tata's plant in Chinchwad near Pune. The same plant manufactures the Tata Vista that indicates the commonisation of components between the two hatchbacks.

Reports suggest that the Tata Bolt will also get a diesel AMT variant.

The report says that apart from the Tata Zest getting a diesel AMT variant, the Bolt will get one too. This would make the Zest and the Bolt the first-ever diesel compact sedan and hatchback in India to have AMT variants. The diesel will also come with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Both vehicles will carry a freshly developed 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.3-liter diesel engine.
