Suzuki Philippines will launch the Suzuki Ertiga MPV in late June, a report on Auto Industriya says.

The website learns from reliable sources that the vehicle will be imported from India (Maruti Suzuki) which is the exclusive producer of the Swift-based MPV. The Suzuki Philippines website had revealed last month that the Ertiga was inbound, but did not provide further info.

As per Auto Industriya, the Ertiga will launch only in petrol, powered by the K14B 1.4-liter 16-valve 4-cylinder engine developing 95 PS @ 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm @ 4,000 rpm of torque combined to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission.

The Ertiga will launch in Indonesia in petrol variants.

The vehicle goes up against familiar competitors, like the Toyota Avanza.

The Ertiga is the second new model from Suzuki Philippines this year, following the 1.2-liter variant of the Suzuki Swift. For the past year, the company has not had much to show, save for the revised Alto and the Swift Dzire sedan, also imported from India.

The Philippines auto market grew by 15 percent last year to over 200,000 registrations. The country's best selling car is the Toyota Vios. MPVs in the top 10 include the Toyota Innova, Mitsubishi Adventure and the Isuzu Crosswind (Chevrolet Tavera).
