New spyshots reveal the rear end of the Maruti Alto 800 facelift, which was caught on test a couple of days ago. As can be seen from the first image, the car on test is indeed the Alto 800 and not the Alto K10. The rear three-quarter spy image reveals that Maruti designers have kept the doors and overall profile of the Alto 800 intact.

The noticeable changes are seen towards the bootlid, rear windscreen and bumper and taillights of the car. The taillights have clearly grown in size and resemble those of the newly-launched Celerio. In order to accommodate the new taillights, the design of the windscreen and bootlid have also changed a little bit.

Earlier spyshots of the refreshed Alto 800 revealed that major styling changes can be expected to the front fascia of the hatchback. New headlights, a larger chrome grille and a new bumper with a larger airdam and foglights enclosures were spotted on the test mule.

Mechanically, the Alto 800 employs a three-cylinder 796 cc engine producing 48 PS and 69 Nm of torque mated to a cable-operated 5-speed manual gearbox. Speculations are rife that Maruti may decide to offer the K10 1.0-liter engine as a higher variant on this car.
