The North American Technical Centre is working on a new four-wheeler platform for M&M.

The new platform may be for global markets as no specific plans exist for Mahindra to enter the US market at the moment. Reports do not specify the type of vehicle or the segment the new platform will be used for.

MNATC employs a team of over 40 engineers and Michigan was chosen as the base as the company is able to draw on the automotive engineering and manufacturing talent available in the state. MNATC complements the Mahindra Research Valley based in Chennai that developed the Mahindra XUV500, and Ssangyong's base in South Korea as a key R&D hub for the company.
