The EcoSport was launched with three engine options, two petrol and one diesel. The base petrol engine is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder producing 112 PS and 140 Nm of torque, and is available with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. A three-cylinder 1.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine produces 125 PS and 170 Nm of torque and comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The diesel version gets a 1.5-liter four-cylinder making 91 PS and 204 Nm of torque, matched to a 5-speed gearbox. Following its launch in June 2013, Ford rolled out consecutive price hikes on the EcoSport which bloated up overall prices by INR 75,000. In February this year, prices were cut by about INR 25,000 thanks to excise cuts.

Vinay Piparsania, Executive Director of Marketing Sales and Service at Ford India, said -

With 50,000 EcoSports delivered, we have significantly reduced the waiting period and are pleased to extend the opportunity to book the Ford EcoSport to more customers.
