Fiat has confirmed that the Fiat Punto facelift is on the business plan of Fiat India for 2014. The action would the first major design overhaul for the hatchback since the Indian launch in 2009.

The Punto facelift has been spotted on test around Fiat's Ranjangaon plant in Maharashtra regularly this year, with complete camouflage. And last week, a presentation prepared by Fiat's headquarters showed a small graphic of the Punto facelift with the headlamps seen on the Fiat Avventura, a pseudo crossover of the Punto unveiled at the Auto Expo.

Design highlights on the Punto include a larger grille, a fresh bumper with revised foglight enclosures and generous chrome surrounds on the foglights. The refreshed Punto will sport the updated cabin from the 2014 Linea.
