A couple of days ago, Volvo released the first interior images of the next generation 2015 Volvo XC90. To put it concisely, Volvo says the interior of the new XC90 is the most luxurious for any Volvo made so far. The company describes the cabin as "clean and beautiful", and says the materials used are top notch.

For example, the dashboard is crafted from wood and leather, while the gearlever is made from crystal glass by Swedish glass-maker, Orrefors. The handcrafted work is extended to the start/stop button and volume control as well.

The seats of the SUV, instead of being thick, are designed to maximize cabin space by use of contouring. Volvo claims adults as tall as 170 cm will sit comfortably in the third row of the car.

The dashboard of the XC90 gets a large touchscreen display instead of a myriad of buttons. The touchscreen will be used to control various parameters of the vehicle, and further details about the system will be released at a later date.

The second generation XC90 will be revealed fully in August this year. We expect the SUV to launch in India by mid-2015. The XC90 will compete with the 2014 BMW X5 (which was launched today), the Mercedes GL Class and the Audi Q7, which would be succeeded by a new generation model.
