The Star City+ will be built on the same platform that is used to underpin the Phoenix 125. It will also use the same 110 cc engine that is used in the TVS Wego and the TVS Jupiter scooters. While the engine makes 7.88 hp for the Jupiter and 8 hp for the Wego, power has been very slightly hiked, to 8.3 hp, for the Star City+.

The engine for the Star City+ makes 8.3 hp at 7,000 rpm and produces peak torque of 8.7 Nm at 5,000 rpm. It is mated to a 4-speed constant mesh gearbox. Torque output has also been increased, as the engine makes 8 Nm for both the scooter models at 5,500 rpm.

The Star City+ was shown at the Auto Expo 2014 where it was showcased alongside the TVS Scooty Zest, which is also likely to be launched soon.

  1. Dr. Nayak says:

They need to do something revolutionary like turbo charging, in this category to excite people about these bikes. A micro electrically run turbo charger will bring power to this category without significantly increasing fuel consumption and busting the treasury. This will be like what Ecoboost did to Ford and the followers will try to catch up for rest of their life.
