Power for the M6 Gran Coupe comes from the same engine seen on the BMW M5. The 4.4-liter V8 features BMWs Twin Scroll and Twin-Turbocharging technology and produces 560 hp between 6,000-7,000 rpm and 680 Nm of torque between 1,500-5,750 rpm. The drive is transmitted via a 7-speed M double-clutch gearbox to the rear wheels.

Coming to numbers, the M6 Gran Coupe can do the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 4.2 seconds while the top-speed is limited to 250 km/h (optionally increased to 305 km/h). BMW claims the M6 Gran Coupe will return 10.1 km/l in the EU driving cycle.

The M6 Gran Coupe will be pricier than the 6 Series Gran Coupe (which is priced between INR 1.07 - 1.19 crores ex-Showroom). Like the 6-er Gran Coupe, the M6 will be brought into India as a CBU (Completely Built-up Unit) product.

The M6 Gran Coupe will compete with the Audi RS 7 in India. While the Audi is down on displacement (its powered by a 4.0-liter engine), it matches the BMW on power producing exactly 560 hp. The RS 7 is quicker on paper taking just 3.9 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 km/h.
