According to Zig Wheels, Bajaj Auto has stopped domestic sales of the Bajaj Discover 125 ST. The discontinuation of the 125 ST is attributed to poor sales performance, says the publication.

The Bajaj Discover 125 ST has been discontinued in the country.

Launched two years ago, the 125 ST was priced at INR 53,730 ex-Showroom, Pune. The motorcycle was powered by a 124.6 cc single-cylinder, 4-valve, air-cooled engine capable of producing 13 PS at 9,000 rpm and 1.1 kgm of torque at 7,000 rpm. The 125 ST came with a 5-speed gearbox and had a claimed top-speed of 105 km/h.

Bajaj was offering the bike with a petal type front disc brake (200 mm) and a 130 mm rear drum. A drum+drum brake variant was not offered surprisingly.

The Discover family now consists of the 100, 100 M, 100 T, 125, 125 T and the new 125 which was launched only last month. The new 125 is priced at INR 47,186 for the drum brake variant and INR 49,146 for the front disc brake version (prices are ex-Showroom, Pune). While the bike gets a 124.6 cc engine similar to the 125 ST, the new Discover produces only 11.5 PS and 1.08 kgm of torque and comes with a 4-speed gearbox.

In recent times, the Discover brand has become too cluttered and confused, though it contributes the most to Bajaj's volumes. For the month of March 2014, a total of 72,213 Discovers were sold, as compared to 71,683 in February 2014.
