The Hyundai ix20 is a rebadged Kia Venga that competes in the five-seat MPV market of Europe. Launched at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, and spotted testing in India last year, we understand that the four year old model is not under consideration for this market as a full fledged crossover has been approved to fight the Duster and EcoSport.
In Belgium, in a bid to stimulate sales, Hyundai have launched a crossover edition of the ix20.
As like the Cross Polo and the Etios Cross, the ix20 has received a rugged-looking makeover. The ride height has been slightly increased and black plastic mouldings are pressed on the wheel arches and doors.
Customers are allowed to choose 16-inch gray alloy wheels and extra front & rear underbody protection. The ix20 Cross, as standard, gets tire pressure monitoring system, automatic air conditioning, rear windows with dark tint, cruise control with speed limiter and a navigation system with a touchscreen display and rear-view camera.
The ix20 Cross is priced at 16,999 EUR (INR 13.99 lakh) for the variant laden with a 4-cylinder 1.4-liter 90 bhp petrol engine. Hyundai is offering a five-year warranty and seven years of free navigation map updates on the ix20 Cross.
