Volvo Auto India today launched the 2014 Volvo S80 facelift at its brand new lounge at Terminal 3 of the New Delhi airport. The D4 variant is priced at 41.35 lakhs and the D5 variant is priced at 44.8 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

The refreshed S80 was revealed at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March last year along with the S60 and XC60 facelifts. Like the smaller models, the refreshed S80 now gets a smaller grille and headlights with LED daytime running lights. The bumpers sport minor visual changes, and the rest of the sedan is left unchanged.

The Volvo S80 D4 is powered by a 2.0-liter inline five-cylinder diesel engine producing 163 hp at 3,500 rpm and 400 Nm of torque. The more premium Volvo S80 D5 gets a 2.4-liter inline five-cylinder engine producing the same amount of torque, but a higher 215 hp at 4,000 rpm.

The Volvo S80 competes with cars like the BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, Mercedes E Class and Jaguar XF. While the S80's rivals are locally assembled in the country, Volvo sells the S80 as a CBU (Completely Built-up Unit) product.

On the sidelines of the launch of the car, the Swedish carmaker also announced its new lounge at the New Delhi airport. The lounge, Volvo say, will be exclusively available to its customers.
