The 2014 Honda City will soon be launched in Nepal, making it the car's first export market from Honda Cars India's Greater Noida plant.
According to Honda's Nepal website, both engine options - petrol and diesel - of the City will be sold there. Honda Cars India commenced production of the petrol powered City only last week and we were informed that dispatch to local dealers has also begun.
The petrol City is powered by a retuned version of the existing 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine. On the new City, this engine produces 1 PS and 1 Nm more, at 119 PS and 145 Nm of torque. Transmission options for the City petrol include a 5-speed manual or a CVT with seven stepped ratios.
The diesel City is powered by a 1.5-liter i-DTEC engine producing 100 PS and 200 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

According to tests conducted by the ARAI, the City petrol manual delivers 17.8 km/l while the City CVT sees a fuel efficiency of 18 km/l. The City diesel on the other hand, at 26 km/l, is India's most fuel efficient diesel car.
The City petrol manual and diesel are offered in E, S, SV, V and VX grades while the City CVT is offered only in SV and VX trims. The City for Nepal is identical in specification and features to the car sold in India.
