IAB reader spots the Maruti Celerio demo car at the dealership

Reader Ravindra sent this snap of the first Maruti Celerio to arrive in his city's major Maruti dealership. Bookings for the Celerio have been officially open for two days now. The Celerio's teaser website is live, and the company is harping on the 23.1 kmpl fuel efficiency figure the Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) variants were awarded in the ARAI test.

The first test drive cars of the Maruti Celerio have reached dealerships.

The Celerio is the successor to the A-Star (Alto globally) which keeps its 1.0-liter KB10 petrol engine that is tuned to produce 67 bhp @ 6,000 rpm and 9.1 kgm @ 3,500 rpm. It is mated to a new 5-speed manual gearbox or an Automated Manual Transmission.

The Celerio features a 235-liter boot space and 60:40 split rear bench. Gizmos include an integrated audio system with USB, Aux-in and Bluetooth for phone and audio streaming, steering wheel with audio buttons, electrically adjustable side mirrors, tilt-adjustable steering wheel, driver airbag, rear wash/wipe and rear defogger.

Expect Maruti to announce the prices of the Celerio during the Auto Expo which begins on the 5th of next month.
