India Kawasaki Motors launched the Z800, priced at Rs 8.05 lakh (Ex-Showroom, New Delhi) and Rs 7.95 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Pune.)

The Kawasaki Z800 gets a 806 cc liquid-cooled inline four stroke single cylinder engine that churns out 111 hp and has a peak torque of 83 Nm.

The Z800 measures 2,100 mm in length, 800 mm in width and 1,050 mm in height, carrying a 806 cc liquid-cooled inline four stroke single cylinder engine that churns out 111 hp and has a peak torque of 83 Nm mated to a six-speed gearbox. The Z800 gets dual semi-floating 310 mm four-piston disc brakes up front and a single 250 mm single piston disc at the rear.

In terms of suspension, up front is a 41 mm inverted fork with rebound damping and spring preload adjustability and at the rear is a bottom-Link Uni-Trak, gas-charged shock with piggyback reservoir and stepless rebound damping and preload adjustability.

The Z800 is mounted on a tubular backbone frame and has a curb weight of 229 kg without the ABS and 231 kg with the ABS.

The Z800 will be the fifth CBU model for Kawasaki in India. The company aims to sell 400 units of all of its five CBU units put together and 1,400 of its CKD models for 2014. If, the number crosses 100 units of each CBU bike in a year, Kawasaki say they will consider locally assembling them.

India Kawasaki Motors sold 25 units of its four CBU models - the 14R, 10R, Ninja 1000 and Z1000 - and 1,000 units of its two locally assembled models, the Ninja 300 and Ninja 650.
