Earlier this month, we showed readers spyshots of the Hyundai Verna facelift snapped in China. Now, thanks to Auto Sohu, we can show you more images of the upcoming model.
Before we explain the changes, we note that the Verna's front fascia differs from the model selling in India. However we do expect changes to be somewhat similar to the refreshed Chinese Verna when the Indian model goes under the knife.
Hyundai designers have redone the front fascia of the Verna completely. They have taken the Fluidic design one step ahead with its swooping headlights, 'waterfall' grille and the Elantra's foglight enclosure. We can also see a set of new alloy wheels on this facelift.
At the rear, Hyundai designers have been lazy as the boot of the facelift continues the way it is. One has to use the reflectors to identify a refreshed Verna from behind. It remains to be seen what changes Hyundai have towards the insides of the car though mechanically, the refreshed Verna would continue using the same artillery.
In India, Hyundai mildly updated the Verna late last year throwing in LED daytime running lights, projector headlights and diamond-cut alloy wheels. There has been no other significant update on the visual aspect since Hyundai launched the car in May 2011.
With Honda having just launched the new City, Hyundai needs to ensure more than ever that the Verna stays updated. We think this car is a good move to fight the new City.
