The Chevrolet Sail will be undergoing a mid-life facelift in its home market of China. Seen here are spyshots of a fully camouflaged prototype, hinting that the refresh is going to be comprehensive in nature.

The headlights seem to be inspired by the Chevy Sonic while the grille resembles the Cruze's.

From the little details that we can see in these images, it appears as though the headlights are inspired by the Chevrolet Sonic, while the taillight cluster also seems to be revised and of a new design. The airdam and the grille have been revised with cues coming from global Chevy models.

The interiors of the car are also camouflaged lending us to believe that an updated dashboard and a new entertainment system are in order.

Under the hood, the Chinese media expect a new 1.5-liter petrol engine to power the top-end variant of the refreshed Sail, while the base models would retain the 1.2- and 1.4-liter powerplants.

The interiors of the refreshed Sail are likely to be more premium than the current model.

In India, the Sail manages lukewarm sales selling an average of 1,353 units per month (calculated till Nov 2013). GM India sells the Sail with two engine options - a petrol and a diesel. The petrol Sail is powered by a 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine producing 86 PS at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm.

The diesel is powered by a Fiat-sourced 1.3-liter engine producing 78 PS and 205 Nm of torque. Both engines come with a 5-speed manual transmission.

We expect this facelift exercise to be carried on the Sail twins in India sometime next year.
