The 2014 India Auto Expo will see 70 new vehicle launches, 40 of which are cars. This is the claim made by Sugato Sen, deputy director-general, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) to Deccan Chronicle. In the previous edition, 46 vehicles were launched.
Sen said the show would be bigger than ever before and he hopes that the event would bring about a change in the customer sentiment towards the purchase of vehicles, which at the moment is worryingly low.
47 vehicle manufacturers will participate in the 12th edition of the Auto Expo, spreading their wares across an area of 64,000 square meters at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, as against 44,000 square meters at the Pragati Maidan in Delhi in the 2012 edition.
The 7-day long fair begins of the 5th of February for the press, while the 6th is also reserved for dealers and the media. Doors open to the public on the 7th and shut on the 11th of February.
