Here is another spyshot of the Hyundai Grand i10 Sedan courtesy of Autocar India reader, Mr. Abishek Balachandran.

The sub-4 meter sedan will rival the Honda Amaze and Maruti Swift Dzire when its launched in the country next year.

The Grand i10 Sedan will share the same underpinnings of the Grand i10 hatchback. It will be based on the BA platform (which for India features a slightly longer wheelbase for added rear seat comfort), while power will come from the four-cylinder 1.2-liter Kappa2 petrol engine or the three-cylinder, 1.1-liter U2 CRDI diesel engine.

Hyundai could also explore the option of using the 1.4-liter CRDI from the i20, and can consider the 4-speed automatic transmission in addition to the 5-speed manual.

Our previous spyshots revealed that the Grand i10 Sedan will get the same dashboard as the hatchback. This would result in the sedan having the same features as the hatchback, such as a fully compatible music system with in-built storage, multifunction steering wheel, dual airbags, ABS, rear AC vents, etc.

The new sedan will be positioned between the Grand i10 hatch and Verna. We expect prices to be as competitive as the Amaze and Swift Dzire.

Will Hyundai bring back the Accent brand to India through the i10 sedan?
