Top Gear believes that the top-end variant of the refreshed Scorpio will get projector headlights, while a newly designed headlamp cluster will be featured across the range. Other cosmetic changes could include a larger grille, a new bumper and a re-positioned air scoop on the bonnet of the SUV. A new alloy wheel design, and a revised tailgate will complete the exterior round of changes.

Powering the Scorpio facelift will be the same 2.2-liter mHawk turbocharged diesel engine. Capable of producing 120 bhp and 290 Nm of torque, this engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Mahindra sells the Scorpio in 2WD and 4WD configurations, and this is expected to remain unchanged. The company also sells entry-level variants of the SUV with 2.6-liter and 2.5-liter m2DiCR engines. These variants target the fleet and taxi operators.

We expect to see the Scorpio facelift at the upcoming Auto Expo in February next year.
