Tata Motors launches CNG variants of Indica, Indigo eCS

Tata Motors have launched the CNG variants of the Indica and Indigo eCS yesterday. These cars were showcased in June this year at the Horizonext event, and are branded 'emax'.

The cars will go on sale in Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Tripura.

Tata Indigo eCS emax

Power comes from the 1.2-liter engine outputting 65 hp and 100 Nm of torque (in petrol mode) and 56 hp and 90 Nm of torque (in CNG mode). Tata claims a fuel efficiency of 24.6 km/kg on CNG, with a range of 230 km on CNG and 650 km on petrol. Two variants are available - GLS (INR 4.99 lakhs) and GLX (INR 5.27 lakhs). The prices mentioned are ex-Showroom, New Delhi.

Tata Indica emax

The Indica CNG features the same engine with the same outputs as the Indigo eCS emax. Due to its heavier weight, the Indica CNG has its efficiency claimed at 23.7 km/kg with a range of 230 km on CNG and 600 km on petrol. Ex-Showroom Delhi prices for the Indica CNG are INR 3.99 lakhs for the GLS and INR 4.26 lakhs for the GLX.
