The New Ford Ka Concept was revealed in Brazil a couple of days ago. Believed to be the successor to the Ford Ka in Europe and the Ford Figo in India, further details on the Ka Concept are now available.

Our friends at Noticias Automotivas, who attended Ford' press conference for the unveiling of the Ka Concept, state that local production of the new Ka could commence in the month of March or April, following which the hatchback could be seen in Brazilian dealerships in the month of May.

The New Ford Ka Concept was unveiled in Brazil a couple of days ago.

The new Ka will be available with a choice of two petrol engines (Ford will not offer a diesel variant in Brazil). The naturally aspirated unit will be the 1.5-liter four-cylinder unit (which we see on the Fiesta) tuned to produce about 111 bhp. Ford's award winning 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost engine would power the higher variants of the Ka, though the power output of this engine is yet to be confirmed.

The new Ka will enter production in Brazil in the April-May period next year.

When it comes to India, we're certain to see the 1.4 or 1.5-liter Duratorq diesel engine being offered alongside the petrol variants.

The new Ka will replace the Fiesta ROCAM in Brazil, and will compete with rivals such as the Toyota Etios, Hyundai HB20 and Chevrolet Onix. Prices are expected in the region of 30,000-40,000 Brazilian Reals (INR 8.18 lakhs to 10.9 lakhs).
