The Bajaj RE60 continues to test in and around Maharashtra. These latest spyshots revealing the interiors of the quadricycle come courtesy of Gaadi.com.

The simple two-spoke steering wheel gets an RE logo in its center and we can also notice a stalk for controlling the wiper on the left-hand side of the steering. The instrument cluster and the gearlever are mounted on the dashboard. The dashboard also receives two lockable gloveboxes on either side.

The RE60 is powered by a 200cc DTS-i engine, though the power and torque outputs remain unknown. Bajaj says that the quadricycle weighs 450kg and has a fuel efficiency of 35+ km/l. The top-speed is rated at 70km/h while the carbon dioxide emissions are rated at 60g/km.

The Indian government needs to create a separate segment for quadricycles, and from the information that is available, quadricycles will be restricted to commercial use only, such as carrying goods and people on ‘non-highway’ stretches of cities and villages.

Given that Bajaj unveiled the RE60 at the 2012 Auto Expo, we expect the company to make an announcement about the market launch at the 2014 Auto Expo which is scheduled to take place in early February.
