The redesigned 2014 Suzuki V-Strom and the refreshed Hayabusa (in Japanese spec) are making their local premieres at the Tokyo Motor Show.

2014 Suzuki V-Strom

Revamped for 2014, the new V-Strom 1000 is decked with features such as Suzuki’s Traction Control System which reduces engine output when a wheel spin is detected, a compact ABS unit which monitors the wheel speed up to 50 times per rotation and matches braking force with the traction available, 10-hole fuel injectors, 32-bit ECU, a new fuel injection system which works with the throttle-body-integrated Idle Speed Control, two iridium spark plugs for each cylinder, and a newly designed magneto.

The motorcycle is powered by a redesigned 1,037cc, 90-degree V-twin engine paired to a 6-speed transmission.

2014 Suzuki Hayabusa (Japanese spec)

The updated Hayabusa in Japanese market specifications is also making its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show. It is powered by a 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, 4-cylinder, 1,340cc engine paired to a 6-speed transmission.

Suzuki says the front brake piston diameter has been enlarged from 32-30 mm to 32-32 mm for better initial bite, and for a higher sense of control. The standard ABS unit is lighter and compact.
