The 2014 Hyundai Accent, which we know as the Verna in India, has received upgrades for the American market.
The Hyundai Accent comes in two body styles for the US market, a hatch version and a sedan. Both the models have received additional standard equipment like one-touch triple turn signal, sliding sun visors and a blind spot mirror. The standard audio system has also been updated for improved voice recognition and button layout.
Other features include projector headlights with LED accents, headlamp welcome/escort function, drivers side auto-up window and tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, which are added to the 5-door SE and the 4-door Premium Package models. The 5-door SE model also gets the B&M Racing Sport Shifter.
Power comes from the 1.6-liter Gamma four-cylinder engine that was selected as one of Ward’s 10 Best Engines in 2012. It develops 138 bhp and 166 Nm of torque and returns up to 27 mpg (11.5 km/liter) in city and 38 mpg (16.1 km/liter) on highway. The engines are mated to a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC and Active ECO System with Hillstart Assist Control.
