To kick start the festive season, VW India has introduced a "Corporate Edition" accessory pack on the Vento. Team BHP reports that the accessory pack can be added on to any variant (Trendline, Comfortline or Highline), regardless of whether it is petrol-powered or diesel-powered.
The free accessory pack comes with eight items that would cost 40,000 rupees if installed independently. These are -
- Alloy wheels
- Trunk spoiler
- Mud flaps
- Door protector
- Window chrome set
- Navigation system and rear view camera
- Seat covers
- Door step garnish
If you notice, the VW Vento Corporate Edition model doesn't have smoked headlights that were introduced late last year.
Mechanically the package is the same, offered with either a 1.6L petrol engine that produces 105 PS and 153 Nm of torque, or a 1.6L diesel engine that puts out 105 PS and 250 Nm of torque. Both engines are matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox though the petrol also gets the option for a 6-speed automatic. The top-end variant is equipped with dual front airbags, ABS+EBD, automatic climate control and steering-mounted audio controls.
Volkswagen has worked around the shortage of new models by launching special editions on the Polo and Vento, besides new powertrains on both cars. Both models now sport the 1.2-liter TSI petrol engine and the 7-speed DSG gearbox. In August the Polo was introduced with a visual off-road package as the Cross Polo, while the Polo GT TDI was launched with the Vento's 1.6-liter diesel engine.
