Ssangyong will reveal a Nissan Juke rivaling compact SUV at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, ahead of its market launch in 2015. Auto Express reports that the upcoming compact SUV will take stage in a possible production-form at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show (March 4-16th 2014) and it will be based on the newly developed compact chassis platform.

The production version of the XIV-1 Concept would be presented in Geneva next year.

The compact SUV will be positioned below the Korando portfolio in the UK market, priced below GBP 12,000 (INR 11.92 lakhs) featuring a similar design language as that of the XIV-1 Concept which was showcased at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The engines powering the compact SUV will be the all-new 1.6L unit, offered in petrol and diesel guises. Auto Express reports that the compact SUV could emerge as a strong seller across the European market when it goes on sale in January 2015.

The concept measured 4.1m long and sourced power from 1.6-liter petrol and diesel engines.

Further, the British publication believes that the Korean auto maker is awaiting a market launch of the entry-level SUV post which Ssangyong’s Korean production facility should be ideally operating at maximum capacity. The aggressively priced SUV would compete not just against the Nissan Juke and the Peugeot 2008, but also against premium models in the used car market.
