USA - 2014 Suzuki Hayabusa 50th Anniversary Edition launched

Suzuki Motorcycles is celebrating their 50th anniversary of sales in the American market by launching the 2014 Suzuki Hayabusa 50th Anniversary Edition.

The Hayabusa 50th Anniversary Edition is available only in this two-tone Candy Daring Red with Glass Sparkle Black color. The 120/70, 17-inch tire at the front and the 190/50, 17-inch tire at the rear also receive a red stripe highlighting this anniversary edition.

Mechanically, the Hayabusa 50th Anniversary Edition continues unchanged. Power comes from the 1,340cc, four-stroke, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Power and torque outputs are rated at 173 hp and 141 Nm respectively.

Measuring 2,190 mm in length, 735 mm in width, 1,165 mm in height, the Hayabusa gets a 21 liter fuel tank and weighs 266 kg. Inverted telescopic coil springs at the front and a link type coil spring at the rear handle the suspension duties. Stopping power comes from twin Brembo discs at the front and a single disc at the rear.

In India, Suzuki Motorcycles haven't launched this 50th Anniversary edition, though the regular 'Busa is priced at INR 15.95 lakhs (ex-Showroom, New Delhi). Suzuki also sells a limited edition Hayabusa (with a yellow paint scheme) for INR 16.45 lakhs (ex-Showroom, New Delhi).

Prices for the Hayabusa 50th Anniversary Edition haven't been announced yet.
