News comes from Indonesia today that Honda is planning the launch of a refreshed CR-V early next year. Our friends at Autonetmagz have received information from their sources in PT Honda Prospect Motor (the local subsidiary of Honda) hinting that an updated model would be launched in early 2014.

The refreshed CR-V will get LED daytime running lights and minor design changes to its alloy wheels.

Exterior changes are likely to come from the inclusion of LED daytime running lights, while other minor details such as the alloy wheel design and chrome embellishments could also change. The report also highlights that there could be a mechanical change in the CR-V’s transmission, and Autonetmagz thinks it could be the addition of paddle shifts on the automatic variants.

Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) launched the new CR-V late last year and the reason for the facelift’s early arrival is being attributed to boosting sales. For the first nine months of 2013, HPM sold an average of 2,172 units of the CR-V every month.

The automatic variants could receive paddle shifters behind the steering wheel.

In India, Honda Cars India launched the new CR-V in February this year with a choice of two engine options, both firing petrol.

While the Honda CR-V with the 2.0-liter engine outputs 156 PS and 190 Nm of torque, the larger displacement 2.4-liter engine produces 190 PS and 226 Nm of torque. The 2.0-liter CR-V is offered with 2WD and is mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic transmission, while the 2.4-liter variant with 4WD is available only with a 5-speed automatic transmission.
