Fiat India launched a new model on the Linea platform a few weeks ago. Called the Linea Classic, its a cut-price variant with a lower price tag and takes the Linea one segment below. The Linea Classic caters to the C-Lower segment and competes with the Tata Manza, Toyota Etios and the higher variants of the Honda Amaze and the Maruti Dzire.

The 2013 Fiat Linea facelift has been testing for quite sometime now.

One of the main reasons for launching the Linea Classic was to create some space in the C-Higher segment for the upcoming 2013 Linea facelift. Launched in the European market in the middle of last year, Fiat is finally showing signs of bringing the updated model to India. The 2013 Fiat Linea facelift prototypes have been regularly caught testing in Pune (which is about 50km away from Ranjangaon where Fiat India has its production facility) and this latest spy shot is no exception.

Snapped by Motoroids reader Yash Chavan, the image shows three Linea facelifts testing together. And as you can see from this image, the facelifted model has been given an extensive redesign, especially at the rear where the taillights have been reprofiled and the registration plate enclosure has moved up from the bumper to the bootlid. As a result, the bumper and the bootlid are redesigned as well.

The front of the car sees an all-new chrome grille and a new bumper with chrome highlights and newly structured airdams. You can also check out the revamped interiors in these spyshots.

The refreshed Linea would get the 1.4-liter T-JET as a petrol option while it remains to be seen whether Fiat India would introduce the 1.6-liter MultiJet diesel engine or whether the 1.3-liter MultiJet would be retained.
