The Toyota Innova received a facelift in the Indonesian market very recently. PT Toyota Astra Motor, the Indonesian subsidy of Toyota, launched the refreshed people carrier with a few minor cosmetic changes and a couple of added features.

We learn that Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is planning to launch the refreshed Innova within 15-20 days. Dealers have already been notified to clear existing inventory and to make way for the refreshed vehicles.

The Toyota Innova facelift gets a larger grille and an all-new bumper.

Our source informs us that there would be a new top-end variant on the Innova called the 'Z'. Priced at approximately INR 17.5 lakhs plus (on-road), the Z variant is expected to pack a comprehensive infotainment system apart from the usual bells and whistles offered on the VX variant.

Apart from this Z variant, there would be a price hike rolled out across the variant lineup. In Indonesia, the price hike ranged from INR 10,000 to INR 28,000 when the refreshed Innovas went on sale in mid-August. This is purely for your reference and doesn't have implications on the magnitude of the price hike in India.

The facelifted Innova can be recognized thanks to its larger chrome grille and a new front bumper. At the rear, you would mistake those chrome plated highlights for aftermarket accessories, but we can assure you they're part of the facelift.

Rear continues nearly unchanged save for the chrome embellishment and added reflectors.

While there weren't any mechanical upgrades, base variants of the Innova in Indonesia received dual front airbags through this refresh. We're not quite sure whether TKM has the same planned here.

This refresh for the Innova is a stop-gap measure until the next generation model arrives, which isn't expected until 2016 at least.
