The facelifted Tata Sumo Grande was caught testing, again. These images courtesy of MotorBash.com, show the same test mule that was spotted earlier this month.

The only change to the front is the blackened grille and the addition of a bull-bar.

But the question does arise, why is Tata 'testing' the Grande facelift, if the expected changes are all but accessory-like additions? The bull-bar for example, has been a popular accessory for the Sumo since its inception in the 90s. An additional set of rear reflectors as seen in these images, can be fitted by an accessory shop.

Possibly the easiest of these changes, a black-colored surround for the window lines and pillars, should take you not more than an hour to fit properly. As far as the wheels are concerned, you could choose from a plethora of rims available these days, and it shouldn't take you more 30 min to install. However Tata have used the same wheels as the one they launched on the vehicle at the Auto Expo almost six years ago.

So why is Tata testing this Grande facelift as such? There are no reports to suggest that the engine could be upgraded. The facelifted SUV is expected to continue with the 2.2-liter DICOR engine which outputs 120PS and 250Nm of torque.

From what our source mentions "specific consumer segments are identified for which the Grande will be made and marketed to". We should be seeing the facelifted Grande latest by the 2014 Auto Expo in February 2014.
