Several reports on the internet are suggesting that it would be another year and half before we see Ford introduce the next generation Endeavour (known as the Ford Everest outside India). Ford launched the next generation vehicle's exterior through a concept at a media event in Australia two months ago where they also presented their roadmap for the country until 2017.

The Everest facelift has launched in Vietnam, Philippines, South Africa and Indonesia.

The concept was designed in Australia, while the production model's development is chugging along at the Broadmeddows technical center in Melbourne.

As engineers work day-in and day-out to convert the concept into a production car, the current Ford Endeavour would have to hold out and for it to do so, Ford introduced a series of cosmetic changes to the car's front-end earlier this year. This update has been launched in Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines and South Africa.

Another important market for the Thai-made Ranger-based SUV is Malaysia, where the car is expected to turn up shortly. The Ford Everest's engine lineup, made by the 143 PS/330 Nm 2.5 litre manual and a 156 PS/380 Nm 3.0 litre automatic, would continue unchanged.

The refreshed Endy's front-end styling makes it look more friendlier. If you look closer, you can also spot a Figo hiding in there, just below the radiator grille. The facelift wears a flatter bonnet and slimmer grille. The interiors sport an all-black theme (in place of a beige interior), and revised graphics on the instrument console.

When Ford India introduces the facelift in India, this is a feature they would want to leave out - an all-black interior.

Ford India is pretty mum about the refreshed Endy's prospects but we are certain that it is bound to hit our market sometime next year.
