The Ford EcoSport was due to be launched in Europe by the end of this year and UK deliveries were to commence by March 2014. According to a new report from Just-Auto.com, the EcoSport's European entry has been delayed.

Ford EcoSport Special Edition Panther Black
Limited edition Ford EcoSport would be delivered first in early 2014.

The report highlights that the Fiesta-based crossover would not be launched in Europe by the end of this year. Instead, Ford would deliver the 500 limited editions (120 of which are bound for UK) by Q1 2014 following which all variants of the EcoSport will go on sale by Q2 2014. An official reason for this delay has not been given.

EcoSports for Europe and UK will be exported from India. Given the current backlog of EcoSport deliveries in India, maybe Ford India is putting off their export plans for the time being?
