The Toyota Etios sedan was launched in Nepal on August 23. United Traders Syndicate (UTS), the authorized distributors of Toyota cars in Nepal, introduced the sedan in both petrol and diesel engine options. Needless to say, the Etios for Nepal is imported from Toyota Kirloskar Motor's (TKM) Bidadi plant in Karnataka, India.

Nepal gets the Etios with both petrol and diesel engines, however in a single variant/grade. The petrol is available as the 'V' grade while the diesel is available on the equivalent 'VD' grade. Customers can choose ABS with EBD, and dual SRS airbags as part of the optional equipment.

There are no cosmetic or mechanical changes for the Nepalese Etios. TKM had gently facelifted the Etios twins earlier this year and the refresh saw redesigned wing mirrors, grille, combination lights cluster, and some interior changes such as different backlighting for the instrument console and new front seats.

Etios for Nepal will be sold with petrol and diesel engines, each in one grade.

While the petrol variant uses the 1.5-liter 90PS engine, the diesel gets a 1.4-liter 68PS engine. The Etios has been priced from 3.445 million Nepalese rupee (INR 22.77 lakhs).

Suraj Vaidya, president of UTS, said -

We have brought in Toyota Etios, which has all the latest features and values our customers associated with Toyota. We are confident that, like our other products, Nepali customers will like it, too.
