Skoda commences the production of Rapid Spaceback in Mlada Boleslav

The Skoda Rapid Spaceback slated to make its world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 10th, has already started rolling off the assembly line at the carmaker's main plant in Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic.

Production of the Rapid Spaceback has commenced in Czech Republic. The car will launch at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Skoda's station wagons enjoy good reputation in the European markets for their space, fuel economy and build, and the newest addition to the family slots in between the Fabia Combi and the Octavia Combi. Other Skoda station wagons include the Fabia Combi, Octavia Combi and the Superb Combi.

The Czech auto maker is on a product onslaught and the Spaceback is its eighth production launch of this year.

In order to accommodate the Rapid Spaceback and other new models, the Mlada Boleslav plant has been modernized and expanded. The estate is benefited by the usage of new equipment for car body production, a fully automated paint shop and a modern press line. The Spaceback shares its assembly line with the Fabia. Other models that are manufactured at the plant are the Rapid and the new Octavia lineup.

Skoda Rapid Spaceback front three quarter

The Rapid Spaceback is powered by an array of petrol and diesel engines with the power outputs ranging from 73-120bhp.

The first batch of Rapid Spacebacks has already left the assembly line with sales across Europe scheduled to begin in October. The launch in the UK will happen in early 2014.
