The Fiat Linea facelift has been caught testing once again. These images, which are courtesy of MotorBash, are proof enough that Fiat India could launch the refreshed Linea in the coming months.

Fiat India's Managing Director, Nagesh Basavanhalli, spoke to Indian Autos Blog telling us how the brand would position the current Linea (which will be called the Linea Classic once the facelift is launched) alongside the refreshed Linea (which could be called the 2014 Fiat Linea). He said that the Linea Classic would be positioned in the C-Lower segment as the Linea brand has the "legs to grow in the C-Segment".

At the rear, the Linea facelift gets its number plate on the bootlid rather than the bumper.

We think the Linea Classic-2014 Linea duo could be something like the Micra Active-2013 Micra range. In the case of the Micra, Nissan priced the Active a good INR 1.29 lakhs lower than the refreshed model thus clearly moving down a segment. For reference purposes, the current Linea range starts at INR 7.12 lakhs for the 1.4-liter FIRE Petrol (ex-showroom New Delhi). Whether the Classic would be positioned at the same price or a notch below is something we'll have to wait and watch.

All new bumper and grille are the changes at the front.

Meanwhile, the 2014 Linea as detailed in our previous story gets a comprehensive makeover: The grille and bumpers are all new, the bootlid now houses the number plate and the interiors sport a few changes such as the new instrument console binnacle.  The petrol power would come from the 1.4-liter T-Jet turbocharged petrol engine. Will Fiat India debut their 1.6 litre MultiJet diesel engine in the 2014 Linea?
