The 2013 Range Rover was launched in late 2012. At that time, Land Rover bosses had hinted that further extensions and model line variations would also be introduced on the Range Rover platform in the coming years.

One of those would be the long wheelbase version of the Range Rover which has been spied very recently in the UK.

In a recent meeting held in Melbourne, Australia, Land Rover has told Caradvice.com.au that the long wheelbase Range Rover would be launched “later this year”.

The LWB version would be important for markets like China which adore stretched versions of uber luxurious cars. It is rumored that the LWB Range Rover would have an increased length of 150mm with most of it going to the wheelbase. Apart from sporting a stretched rear door, the LWB version also has a longer rear overhang.

Has LR pushed the seats backward to create a limousine like experience? Possibly.

It remains to be seen whether the long wheelbase Range Rover would be sold only in China or other international markets as well.

The second Range Rover model for 2013 would be the hybrid diesel which would be shown at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. Along with a 3.0-liter diesel, the hybrid also packs a 1.7-kWh battery pack and would promise class leading fuel economy and CO2 emissions.
