Tata Motors has announced that its short term goal would be to come up with product refreshes. The Tata Nano, Indigo eCS and the Aria are getting facelifts in the near future, sticking to that strategy.

While those are minor facelifts, the Tata Vista is heading for a comprehensive refresh at least in terms of design. In spite of a undergoing a lifecycle activity in mid-2011, the Vista feels old in comparison to peers. Furthermore the front-end of the vehicle doesn't have a personality of its own as it wears the Manza's face. So then, an exhaustive makeover is what the doctor's prescribed.

Here is the first spyshot of the Vista facelift which has started its testing regime. The mule was caught testing in an undisclosed test circuit by Team-BHP.com. The thick disguise doesn't give away the design details but we reckon that the Tata Vista would borrow a few cues from the Manza hybrid concept which was showcased at last year's Auto Expo.

Tata Manza hybrid concept
The Vista facelift could be inspired by the Manza hybrid concept that was showcased at Auto Expo 2012.

The headlamps and grill could streamline into a single unit, giving the car a wider stance. And of course, the front bumper will be new. The rear fascia could sport different taillamps with a revamped hatch and bumper. In short, the Vista facelift would be a lot more modern than the current car.

The Vista D90 has just received the Manza's dashboard and we expect all the variants of the new Vista to use the same.

As of now, we will stop short of speculating powertrain details as the information available is very limited. However, stay tuned to India Autos Blog as we keenly follow the development of the Tata Vista facelift.
